Infornation on how to get rid of bedbugs

I don’t know if you have tried sleep on a bed infested with bedbugs, not that anyone would like to try that but sometimes it’s the hotel you check in which gives you such an experience. It’s a common problem in hotels and places with offer cheap accommodation, so sometime in life most of us know what it is like to be bitten by a bed bug.

Bedbugs can live in your bedding or mattresses for days and months unless you do something about them. They will bite you and suck on your blood during the night when you are asleep, blood is food for them and they get it from humans easily.

Bedbugs bite have mouth parts that specialize in piercing and sucking blood out of an animal or a human, there is no difference between the two here as long it is a warm blooded animal. They will pierce the skin and suck the blood which will last for a minute to three minutes. The bite is painless and no one would know about it until after some time when the sucker has already finished his meal and left for his home.

Bedbugs are not very choosy for the place they live in till the time they have someone to bite and feed themselves, so they can live anywhere. Bed bugs bites are distinguished by the large wheels formed on the skin of the person. Now with all this biting and sucking, how to get rid of bedbugs is still the question. Treating bites is not the solution of the problem but to get rid of bed bugs is the only solution.

There are things you can do to get rid of bedbugs and you can get professional help from your pest control who have enough tools to get rid of them. Beds which are heavily infested should be disposed off. The best way is perhaps to not let them come at the first place and have good cleanliness.

Finding Bedbugs

You can find bedbugs in almost any kind of place and on all kinds of surfaces. These insects don’t have wings and they are flat and hard which helps them to get into tiniest of cracks and cervices where they hide and lay their eggs. They have swift movements tat helps them to run for hiding quickly.

You can spot them on the white floor of marble but it would be very difficult to see them on darker colors as they are brown in color which turns into deep red after they have had their meal of blood. It is because of their color, movements and the shape of their body that bedbugs are hard to find.

There are different kinds of bedbugs as well. Most common of them are found at room temperature. They are found in urban areas as well as the environment suites them perfectly. They don’t need much to survive as long as they get what they need. Then there are tropical bedbugs as well which are found in tropics.

Besides our homes you can find bedbugs in bat caves and even bird nests. Anything that gives them warmth and blood to feed themselves on can be a home to bedbugs. You can find them in cracks in the walls or floor, wooden panels, furniture, under the carpets, mattresses. They are also found in your bedding or even your luggage.

An adult bedbug is a parasite that lives on the blood of others. Humans make a perfect host with the warm blood to suck. Most commonly they will make your bedroom as their home. There are a lot of other places for them to live even if we leave your bed which makes it ideal for them to live in.

About Bedbugs

There are millions of insect on this planet. Some are essentials for the nature to grow and evolve, some are good while some are not good at all. Some of the common insects are found everywhere around most of which are not good for us but they still exist and no matter what you do you never really get rid of them.

Bedbugs are one of them. As an exterminator people always ask me questions about bedbugs. They really don’t know how to deal with them. Insecticides are not a good choice as you have to use the bed for yourself and insecticides are harmful for humans also.

Bedbugs are like vampires sucking onto your blood in the night when you are asleep. They are insects small brown, black in color. They are active in the night as most of the other insects do. In the day they prefer to hide and you won’t find them. They are small so they can hide in the smallest of places usually inside of mattresses. They do not form clusters like ants or bees but will be all over the place.

Bedbugs have been around for ages now. Poor hygiene and cleanliness are the main reason for their existence and growth. Bedbugs were a big problem before 1940’s but after the use of pesticides became common, there was a decline in the growth of bedbugs. Now with known harmful effects of pesticides to humans there has been a reduction in the use of pesticides and also they are more immuned to the effects of these pesticides. So they are increasing again. And we have to deal with them with out harming oneself.

Bedbugs can be mistaken for ticks or even the cockroaches with their hard black bodies. They can move fast on all surfaces but they can not fly. So you will find them crawling swiftly on the beds or any other surface like walls or ceilings. Bedbugs can increase at fast rate as one single female can lay around 500 eggs in her lifetime.

The growth of a bedbug also depends on the nutrition he gets, if he gets his supply of blood he will grow fast or he can remain without it for a long time and be alive. This is the reason for their multiplication. There is a lot to write about these buggy creatures and I will keep posting more information.
